About Florida Mold Help

We help Florida homeowners, condo owners and renters get from “I think I have mold” to a local company that can inspect and fix it.

Why this site exists

Mold is one of the most common problems in Florida homes. Year-round humidity, summer storms, hurricanes and flooding mean water gets into walls, attics, AC systems and floors, and mold can start growing within 24 to 48 hours if materials are not dried, according to the EPA.

Finding the right help is harder than it should be. People worry about overpriced quotes, about whether a company is licensed, about who pays in a condo or rental, and about what insurance covers. Florida Mold Help answers those questions in plain language and connects callers with local mold companies.

How we write our guides

Our pages are written for Florida, city by city. We use public sources such as the Florida DBPR, the Florida Statutes, the EPA, the CDC, county emergency management and NOAA climate data, and we link to them so you can check the facts yourself.

Check a Florida mold license before you hire

Florida’s DBPR licenses mold assessors and mold remediators under Chapter 468, Part XVI of the Florida Statutes, and remediators must carry at least $1,000,000 in general liability insurance with mold coverage. Ask for the license number and search it on the DBPR license lookup.
